1. What you are joining
CheckX Alpha lets adults sign in by email, propose an X as an X Captain, invite people, record commitments and prepare a Captain Brief. By creating an account or submitting a proposal or commitment, you agree to these terms. The separate concept demo illustrates possible gameplay; its rewards, sponsors and campaign results are not real offers.
2. Accounts and age
Use an email account you control and accurate information. Sign-in codes are personal, expire after ten minutes and can be used once. Do not share codes or use another person’s account. Sign out on shared devices.
You must be at least 18 to create an Alpha account, act as a Captain or commit. The Alpha has no child accounts, verified guardian-consent process or supervision service. A proposal mentioning families or younger audiences does not authorize minors to register or attend. Guardian approval alone does not override this Alpha restriction; any future activity involving minors needs separately confirmed rules and safeguards.
3. Proposals and commitments
Private and Public Xs are proposals, not bookings or approved events. Both currently use invitation links; Public does not mean automatic listing, promotion or launch. A commitment records your interest in the proposed X. It does not purchase a ticket, reserve a venue or guarantee admission.
Reaching the commitment target changes a proposal from Forming to Crew Ready and makes the Captain Brief available. It does not approve or launch the Hunt. CheckX may decline, delay, change or cancel a proposal, including after it reaches its target. No proposal is guaranteed to become a Hunt.
4. Invitations and referrals
Share invitations only with people who would welcome them. Do not spam, impersonate others or create accounts to inflate a crew. Invitation links can be forwarded and grant access to proposal information; Private is not a promise that recipients will keep it confidential. Referral records associate a commitment with the invitation used. A referral does not promise a reward.
A Captain can regenerate the primary link. This stops new access through that link but does not remove existing members or invalidate participants’ separate referral links.
5. Community content
You are responsible for your proposal, Captain name, descriptions and Brief. Share only content you have permission to use. Do not post private information about others, unlawful material, harassment, hate, dangerous challenges or misleading claims about permissions, sponsors or prizes. You retain your rights in your content and allow CheckX to store, display and review it as needed to operate the Alpha and evaluate the proposal.
CheckX may reject or cancel unsafe, unlawful or inappropriate proposals and restrict abusive use. The Alpha does not provide automatic content approval, a live moderation team or emergency monitoring.
6. Safety, venues and permissions
A suggested location is not an approved venue. Captains must describe restrictions and permission needs accurately. Do not trespass, enter closed or dangerous areas, interfere with traffic or businesses, or treat a proposal or map illustration as permission to enter. Nothing in the Alpha confirms accessibility, insurance, permits, venue consent or safety checks.
Do not organize attendance based only on a proposal or Crew Ready status. Any actual Hunt needs separate, explicit confirmation of arrangements and participation rules. For an immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
7. Prizes, sponsors and availability
No prize, Drop, sponsor, merchant partnership or venue is guaranteed unless explicitly confirmed for that actual event. The Alpha does not currently run live Hunts or award demo rewards. Features and availability may change, and errors or interruptions can occur. These terms do not remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Read the Alpha privacy policy for information about accounts, invitations and operational analytics. Updated terms will be posted here with a revision date.
